My Story
My story with Scentsy started in February of 2006. After a bad day at work, I attended a friend's Scentsy party. I had never heard of it but figured some girl fun might improve my rotten mood. It turns out the Consultant was also a friend of mine and it was her first party as a consultant! It was great to catch up with her and meet her sponsor. I have to admit it was a blast and I had fun! It picked me right up! I was sitting on the floor with all the testers and talking with 4 women I didn't know. They were talking about what smells they liked and I was handing them samples and saying 'this should have cinnamon in it or that should smell flowery' (like I would know anything ha ha). The consultant and her sponsor both said I should sell the stuff and I just laughed and in my defeated at work mood said, "I can't! I don't have a degree" (reflecting back on the interview I had experienced earlier this day and the lecture I got regarding my life). They told me all the obvious things... You don't need a degree to sell, you just have to join and want to succeed. I went to bed and dreamt the whole night about how I was going to market my Scentsy business! I woke up the next day, called the consultant friend and signed up. I kept it part time for over 3 years... selling to family and friends, throwing an occasional open house or party... but in September 2009 I signed up one more consultant and that booted me over the edge to Director. That is when it got serious! As a leader in Scentsy, I love my life! I am making friends, selling candles, helping other consultants succeed and it feels wonderful. I haven’t quit my other job quite yet, but I love the extra income Scentsy brings to my life. The best part is the friends I have made – they inspire me to be the best Lisa I can be! I am forever changed by knowing their generosity, authenticity, and becoming a part of something so much more than candles and wax.
